150 meters N across the channel is plot RAND.62, a sycamore floodplain forest. The surrounding upland is privately owned and managed as timber land. There is a scenic train that runs along the W bank of the river.;Small frequently flooded river island. The forest floor has many high water channels and flotsom piles. Many of the larger trees almost appear to be growing on sandy hummocks with lots of flotsom piled at their bases. Little if any sign of anthropological disturbance. The channels surrounding the island are flowing quite well. Leading me to believe that the area remains surrounded by water for most of the year. With one of the channels only drying up in late August or September. This could account for the lack of man made disturbance.
