See RAND.66,67. Downstream ca. 50 m is a red oak - sugar maple - bitternut hickory stand. Small patch but it would make a nice plot.;Open sunnty tall herb community growing at the downstream end of a river island. The soil is somewhat deep and sandy. The plot is at the mouth of a back channel drain. Frequent flooding likely inhibits dominance by woody species. Community is great habitat for Marshallia, although none was observed.
