Downslope and cooler aspects are mostly successional tuliptree. Across MacFarlan Ck is a patch of conifer signature which is hemlock - oak (RIMI.2). Creek bottoms are weedy and/or successional tuliptree.;Upper slope of hill with southerly aspect in a dissected plateau landscape. Community is an oak hickory forest with high age class diversity. There are old skid roads and other evidence of timber harvest in past, but no stumps in plot, possibly 2nd growth after fire. Shrub and herb layers are well developed.
Representativeness
Large patch of matrix oak - hickory forest on upper slopes. Plot placed to include some larger trees and a canopy gap, some areas are more uniformly younger cohort with similar composition.
