In a large cove at the west edge of the property below a mixed oak forest. This place could be at risk of more exotic species invasion.;This is one of the few truly covey places where the shape is more cresent shaped, has large mesic hardwoods and well developed canopy. Soils are moist and richer, but the herb layer lacks what may indicate richer soils although mesic herbs are present.
Representativeness
Low slope mesic vegetation sampled for comparison with other examples. Differs because of lack of indicator herb species. Trees are somewhat difficult to capture. There is a lot of red oak and red maple in some places.
