Wildlife Management Area with overpopulation by deer. Tract is across creek from county road and may be little visited.;Steep south facing slope near geological break. Bedrock is a crumbly limestone which reacts strongly with acid. Community is an open forest with stunted, battered red cedar, red oak and chinquapin oak. Steep slope and loose rock, along with drought, gypsy moth, and wind maintain open physiognomy. Chinquapin may have a disadvantage on this slope. Understory herbs are browsed and surrounding area is also heavily browsed.

Small patch calcareous oak forest. Plot placed to include a couple chinquapin and maximize limestone influence.
