This stand continues downslope almost perfectly along this spur ridge and is bound on all sides by chestnut oak or mixed oak forest.;Short statured, dry, fairly homogenous stand of pines on a spur ridge that drops sharply downslope. Scrub oak seems to be more important here than heaths which has been observed elsewhere. Hardly any herbaceous cover except some graminoids.
Representativeness
South facing, very dry Virginia pine-table mountain pine community. Seems that there is more Virginia pine in the stand which is representated here. Perhaps more heath cover would be appropriate, but scrub oak seem more dominant.
