Near the western edge of the WMA above the draw. Mixed oak forest surrounding the area with a little scattered pine species.;This is a dry oak-heath forest with more scarlet oak then usual. For a mid-lower slope there is more Q. prinus as which is typically replaced by Q. velutina and Q. alba. A lot of young trees here with widely spaced canopy trees. Of A lot of Menzezia, too.
Representativeness
Variation on a mixed oak community where black oak, which is more typical, is replaced by scarlet oak. Difficult to get a full representation of the oaks here. Black oak is scattered.
