This stand is abut 200 vertical feet below the ridge and above a small run which enters Meadow Run. To the south is a similar forest, but is invaded by garlic mustard. North is an oak-hickory forest with more heaths.;Nice example of mid-upper slope oak hickory forest with predominantly chestnut oak and hickory species. This stand has a great deal of canopy gaps with herbs flourishing in them. Deer browse is evident on some of the woody plants. Canopy trees are well spaced.

Diverse oak hickory forest. Placed to avoid areas of invasive weeds and to get some canopy gaps which which are frequent. Also chosen for diverse graminoid element.
