This cove is located between a dry oak forest on both sides and the ridge above.;This is a NW facing cove of primarily red oak and white ash. The soils here are under a layer of rock, but appear more fertile than nearby soils. There are many tree falls with Acer pensylvanicum in the gaps. White ash, as with others nearby, are dying.

Cove with mesic species. Placed to capture red aok and white ash in canopy, some of the dense cover of Acer pensylvanicum in the understory and herbaceous diversity.
