This plot is at the south end of the wetlands where communities become small patches. On the east side is a pitch pine forest and a hardwood forest to the west. An alder thicket is immediately behind the plot.;This is a typical Carex stricta community now with some grasses and rushes. It is adjacent to Meadow Run. These places are dying out and now I can't tell how inundated these places get. The hummocks suggest 15 cm of water may be here seasonally.
Representativeness
Chosen to capture some of the mid-season species in a dense Carex stricta stand.
