This plot is above a draw and below a side ridge. Across the draw is a dry oak forest, but oak-hickory is predominant towards the ridge.;This oak-hickory forest is for the most part typical if this area, but the aspect and position (NE and more proctected) favors some more mesic species such as butternut and Dryopteris marginalis. There are a lot of canopy gaps and caopy trees are widely spaced.

Slightly more mesic oak hickory forest. A lot of blowdowns and unevenly aged trees make this difficult to represent.
