Fairly well isolated wetland community with hydrolic alteration by beavers. Evidence of their activity is directly downstream where there is a boneyard of trees. This area is potentially threatened by invasion of exotic species from game plots.;Intermediate inundation condition between a very inundated community to the west and less inundated community to the east (alder) progressing to forest. This community consists of a virtual monoculture of Carex stricta which forms cone shaped hummocks, between which are more inundated with Scirpus and C. atlantica.
Representativeness
Community with constant inundation clearly favoring a clear dominance of Carex stricta. Other examples have been observed locally and seeem well represented. West edge almost reaches heavily inundated community and may have some representation here.
