Landscape Narrative ? Downstream at the dam is an alder-Viburnum thicket. Interspersed in the community are patches of Dulichium marsh.;This community is almost 100% Sparganium in the largest formerlly beaver dammed area of the wetland. A former beaver dam which spans the wetland is creates a huge area of standing water. On this occasion, the water is low and ther has been little rain, hence the large proportion of bare soil that would otherwise be water. There are large pools of standing water nonetheless. There are standing snags ~3 m high with fire scars.
Representativeness ? Only known sample large example of a Sparganium wetland. Sparganium is almost exclusive here.
