Beaver ponds (active) and a few strips of shrubland along old beaver dams, interspersed with meadows within a forested section of Sleepy Creek WMA.;Graminoid beaver meadow in active beaver complex along Roaring Run. Roaring Run is somewhat entrenched and eroding through the meadow. Small subsidiary channels and small sloughs contribute to a naturally complex microtopography. Pitch pine seedlings and saplings dot the meadow.
Representativeness
Plot was placed to capture diversity and rare plants noted last August, within graminoid beaver meadow, in area of dominance by Calamagrostis coarctata.
