Downslope quickly grades to successional tuliptree forest. Top of hill and west aspect upper slope has oak/blueberry forest.;Terraced slope of hill in dissected plateau landscape. Near top of hill there is a narrow zone of oak-maple forest without ericads. Site seems more deer browsed compared to tract visited earlier today (STUM.1). There is not much oak regeneration here. Lots of tip mounds and downed woody debris.
Representativeness
Putative "natural" matrix prior to clearing. Small patch of dry-mesic oak forest. Placed plot to avoid younger successional tuliptree forest which predominates on this aspect.
