Large open wetland and open heath woodland complex logged in early 1900's. Wetland types include Abies islands, blueberry hummocks, "bog", and sedge and grasslands dominated alluvial terraces. The plot is on a small spit (with bedrock underneath?).;Slightly sloping seep area with high hummocks. Herb shrub community dominated by Typha latifolia and Salix sericea with bog species underneath. Higher diversity than most other communities in area (see plots TUCK.8-13). Perhaps due to seepage from mineral soil or structure added by Salix and Typha. Typha is mostly taller than the Salix. A few spruce are in this community.
Representativeness
Medium sized patch with co-dominance by Typha and Salix.
