Large wetland complex with Spiraea alba/Scirpus spp.- Glyceria spp. shrubland along the stream grading into lush Alder thickets and then into this woodland type. The wetland complex is surrounded by some upland forest intermixed with pasture.;Lush circumneutral Abies balsamea - Fraxinus nigra swamp woodland . Several tip mounds add structure to the woodland. The area is obviously grazed by both deer and cattle. This area seems slightly less impacted by the cattle. A few very large (40 cm tall) hummocks around trees and downed logs with small (probably cattle influenced) hummocks in the open areas. Picea rubens is the dominant regenerating tree.
Representativeness
