Landscape Narrative ? See plots USFS.24,25. Transect bearing is 130 degrees. Chains 1 to 35 Betula alleghaniensis - Acer rubrum with some Fagus grandifolia and Picea rubens in the understory. Then side slope - Fagus grandifolia and Blue Cohosh increases, more diverse. Into a partial logging unit chains 35-70. Beyond chain 70 Tsuga canadesis understory, lost Fagus, more Betula alleghaniensis, lots of Prunus serotina, ferns, picked up Lycopodium obscurum.;Pit and mound topography. Large opening of understory in center of plot.
