See plots USFS.1,2. Transect bearing 36 degrees. Transect starts out on a steep slope with an aspect of 160 degrees. The lower slope has several small limestone cliff bands. The community is a Quercus rubra - Acer saccharrum -Tilia americana / Impatiens pallida - Laportea canadensis forest. The mid slope is only moderately steep with large sandstone boulders. The forest becomes a slightly less diverse Quercus rubra - Acer sacchrum forest. Several old logging roads criss cross the hillside.;Red Oak. Overstory had Liriodendron tulipifera and Quercus rubra. The understory was mainly Betula lenta and Acer saccharum. Forb cover was not that abundant. Plot was very steep.
