See plots USFS.4,6. Transect bearing 20 degrees. Chains 1-30 extremely steep Acre rubrum, Prunus seorina, Tilia americana, Fagus grandifolia, and Magnolia acuminata. Typical mixed mesophytic. After chain 30 reached a broad ridgetop. Thick Rhododendron maximum cover under Betula alleghaniensis. Several ferny hemlock openings in Rhododendron. Walked along edge of wetland for chains 50-70.;Windthrow aspect 310 degrees. Dense Rhododendron maximum stand. Few forbs.
