State park with recreational areas in bottoms. Some white pine in vicinity appears planted by CCC, with early break-up and different looking bark, but there is also abundant natural white pine in other areas. Seed source for pine regneration in this stand is uncertain.;Midslope on a gently sloping side ridge. On convex shoulder position is a xeric oak forest dominated by chestnut and scarlet oak with patchy huckleberry. There are very few herbs in this forest or in oak-hickory, probably due to shading, leaf litter and heavy deer herbivory.
