Plot located just ~30 meters from high traffic road to the east, sits in backwater channel. Area is highly disturbed and inundated with invasive plants. This swamp remnant is part of the large fragmented wetland complex at Winfield Swamp.;Remnant stand with a few large trees in a swamp that was once part of the Kanawah river floodplain that has been disconnected. Heavily impacted by invasive plants and altered hydrology. Mud flats evidence of water ponding. Absence of shrub layer evidence of deer browse. Site probably receives runoff from road and some amount of trash evident.

Very small patch of Quercus bicolor (400 square meters) dominance within a Quercus palustrus stand.
