Slightly downstream on slightly lower ground is a huge silver maple with similar herb composition. Upland lower slopes are beech-buckeye-basswood, pure beech on middle slopes, oak-hickory on upper slopes. Sound of highway is dim but constant.;Floodplain above a steep banked, slow moving, muddy bottomed creek which dissects convoluted uplands. Floodplain forest with diverse canopy, dominated by hickories, over a dense shrub layer of paw paw and dense herb layer. There is a low levee above the bank and a slight depression against the upland slope bottom which collects flotsam. Sycamore and silver maple occur in more exposed alluvial positions.

Small patch of hickory dominated floodplain, plot covers around 1/2 of patch, but type occurs in other patches along drainage.
