Very weedy with Japanese stiltgrass dense in many areas. Water filled inactive channel slough to the east. Island tapers to a point to the west. Newly brush hogged trail comes within 20m of plot and may bring invasives in.;Well developed patch of silver maple floodplain forest with fewer invasive species than surrounding areas. Stand is on a convex levee adjacent to inactive channel slough. Community extends into slough with smaller trees and less ground cover.
Representativeness
Plot was placed to sample larger trees and less weedy area of silver maple floodplain forest at the western end of the oxbow/slough.
