Author Location ? Big Chico Creek Ecological Reserve
Location Narrative ? Big Chico Creek ER, California State University Chico: This stand is located just below a Lovejoy formation outcrop. Vegetation consists mostly of young Pseudotsuga menziesii. The stand is multiple-aged but there are no old trees. There is recent fire evidence on trunks from a fire that occurred in 1999. An old road bounds the stand on the NW side. The stand is narrow and width varies. The multi-stemmed Quercus chrysolepis and Acer macrophyllum suggest past fire/disturbance. Selective logging may have occurred in the stand during the past 100 years.
