Cow Creek Ranch is a Shasta Land Trust easement property. A dense blue oak woodland with occasional patches of Quercus wislizeni and Pinus sabiniana. The shrub layer is somewhat heterogeneous with patchy Arctostaphylos manzanita, poison oak, and young Quercus wislizeni. There is a fair amount of boulder cover as well. The herb layer contains a significant presence of purple needle grass and other native perennial grasses.
