Location Narrative	This stand constitutes a thin strip of riparian vegetation along the American River. The stand consists of stump-sprouting Salix exigua in dense to open patches. Most of the previous year's growth was knocked down and killed by high water. The stand is at the edge of a large cobble bar on the N side of the river.
