Location Narrative ? Hathaway Ranch is a Shasta Land Trust easement property. This stand is characterized by a mature mixed oak canopy with an arborescent Arctostaphylos viscida understory in a drainage (or possibly a seep) which faces NE and joins the seasonal creek in the valley bottom below. The ridgeline above the stand surveyed is a dense stand of Quercus douglasii. There are lots of Quercus douglasii seedlings in the stand.
