BLM Parcels in Butte County, east and southeast of Paradise: Black oak woodland on the uppermost steep west northwest-facing slope of the Feather River canyon. There is scattered emergent large Pinus ponderosa and a scattered understory tree layer of big-leaf maple and some bay. The shrub layer consists of patchy Rhamnus and Ceanothus and a continuous lower cover of poison oak. The herbaceous layer is also patchy with a lot of star flower and Melica.
