Horning Ranch, Hamlin Canyon in Butte County: A small stand of Nassella pulchra in the middle of a much larger Lolium and medusahead-dominated annual grassland. The Nassella occurs in similar sized "mini-stands" through this canyon, most often under the blue oaks, but occasionally out in the open like this one.
