Horning Ranch, Hamlin Canyon in Butte County: Stand is found just downstream of Hamlin on the dry creek. Both SE and NW-facing slopes contain the characteristic vegetation of open, shrubby Quercus wislizeni, Aesculus californica and Toxicodendron diversilobum. Both slopes are very rocky, but the NW-facing slope has more large volcanic mud conglomerate boulders. There is emergent, mature Pinus sabiniana, some with fire scars from fire in 1993.
