Location Narrative ? Tributary of Big Chico Creek, ephemeral and approximately 1 meter wide with boulders, bedrock, cobbles, gravel bottom. Dominated by big sycamores (> 20 in. diameter), and mixed aged Quercus lobata and Quercus wislizeni. Understory is Toxicodendron diversilobum with Calycanthus, Heteromeles arbutifolia, and Juncus effusus. In openings, Calycanthus is very dense. Sycamores and Vitis are not yet leafed out and Quercus lobata is just beginning to leaf out.
