The stand is dominated by mature multi-stemmed and single-stemmed Quercus chrysolepis with a mid-level understory of Aesculus californica and a dense cover of Symphoricarpos albus low to the ground. The substrate is very rocky and covered with moss. The stand is found on a northwest facing, steep slope which goes down to a creek. There are signs of past mining disturbance. There is a trail along the creek below the stand.
