Butte College and surrounding environs: The stand is a narrow riparian corridor along both sides of Clear Creek as it runs through the Butte College campus. Quercus lobata dominates the tree layer with Platanus racemosa, Populus fremontii and Salix laevigata peppered throughout. The understory is mostly open. The college has used goats to remove Rubus discolor. Some Vitis californica and Sambucus mexicana present. The herbaceous layer is mostly Carex nudata along the running water, and non-native grasses up the bank from the water.
