Location Narrative  |
Large, old Salix laevigata dominate W. and E. banks of Calaveras River, amid large mounds of mine tailings. Very weedy understory with abundant Rubus discolor, Carduus, Silybum, Torilis, and Bromus diandrus. Large Populus fremontii occur occasionally throughout. Rubus discolor is the only shrub besides young Salix. Populus fremontii much taller than Salix laevigata.
