This serpentine grassland lies west of Calaveras River and previous stand. Stand is sandwiched between riparian forest and interior live oak woodland. Some bedrock is serpentine. Shrubs are diminutive and some Quercus douglasii and Pinus sabiniana dot the stand. Herbs are almost entirely weedy species. Remnants of miners' rock-wall houses remain. Very late in season for this stand.
