Quercus wislizeni stand is multi-layered, outer-riparian band (outside of valley oak stand) with obvious mine tailing mounds scattered and increasing in number nearer to Lake Folsom. Shrub layer is very dense, at times impenetrable, with Garrya, Rhamnus, Heteromeles arbutifolia, Rhus trilobata, and poison oak. The ground is covered by moss, Sonoma sage, and Sanicula with abundant leaf litter (duff) below moss. An ephemeral stream runs through stand. Phenology is still early.
