This is a large rock outcrop next to a riparian area on the N bank of the American River. The water is about 5-10 feet away from the stand. Stand consists of occasional Quercus wislizeni and Philadelphus lewisii growing over rocks covered with Selaginella hansenii, moss, lichens, and some liverworts. There is a narrow trail at the base of the stand.
