Horning Ranch, Hamlin Canyon in Butte County: Mixed oak over Aesculus californica on a NW-facing slope, just above the creek which runs south down Hamlin Canyon. The oaks are mature and the buckeye layer is dense and continuous. The stand extends from a steeper NW-facing slope, to the flatter area at the creek bed. Stand is about 2 acres.
