| Location Narrative |
Stand is in small creek tributary of American River, south of Coloma, off of Hwy 49. Tall Alnus rhombifolia dominate while dense Vinca swamps most of the understory with some buckeye and Vitis in middle stories. There are several tall standing snags (used by acorn woodpeckers) of Pinus ponderosa and one Quercus lobata. Quercus lobata edges both sides of stand and overhang it. Bedrock and small rock line the streambed, which varies from 1- 3 m wide. Stream runs S to NE, then N along Hwy 49.
