Location Narrative |
JS Ranch is a Shasta Land Trust easement property. Quercus kelloggii and Pinus sabiniana dominated stand on moderate N facing slope. There is a creek downslope with riparian area. The stand is fairly open with dense patches of Dodecatheon hendersonii and a perennial Poa. The substrate is very heavy clay. The oaks are just leafing out, and there are potentially lots of native perennial grasses, but it is too early to tell for sure.
