This stand covers the entire NW facing slope that leads down to the Mokelumne River bottom. There is more Quercus lobata at the base of the hill, and more Quercus wislizeni at the top of the hill, but it is a continuum and the understory species are constant. The "River of Skulls" trail leads through this stand.
