Bettencourt Conservation Easement and adjacent State Recreation Area land: This is a stand of riparian vegetation that burned about 5 years ago. The stand is dominated by thick Rubus discolor with some Salix spp. and patches of dense Vitis californica. There are many standing snags, mostly of Quercus kelloggii. The herb layer is very sparse.
