The stand is a shrubland of open, small stature buckbrush with occasional gray pine and blue oak over a grassy herbaceous layer. Co-occurring shrubs include scrub oak, yerba santa, and birchleaf mountain-mahogany. The stand occurs on the top and side of the slope.
