These properties are part of Placer Legacy, county open space and habitat protection program. This is a star thistle stand on a steep NE-facing slope. This area has been grazed for 25 yrs but not for the last two years. The thatch is thick. Barbed wire fence runs at the top boundary of stand. The bottom boundary is 5-6 ft up from the road cut.
