Location Narrative |
A canyon live oak dominated woodland that is mature, with die-off caused by fire and possibly natural decadence. The shrub understory varies from moderately dense to dense, and grows amongst rocks, downed wood, and leaf litter. The stand abuts a cliff face along Mill Creek Ridge. The stand contains snags and trunks with fire scars (from the last ten years). The canyon live oak regeneration is fairly pronounced in the shrub layer.
