This stand was probably cleared for grazing. Greenwood was a ranch until recently. At this time of year it is almost solid Taeniatherum, whereas in the early spring the Taeniatherum was not up yet, at least so that we could identify it. There are adjacent grass/forb stands of Centaurea solstitialis and/or Stephanomeria.
