Location Narrative ? Wurlitzer Ranch lies in both Tehama and Butte Counties. This is a portion of a band of vegetation in thick soil surrounded by thinner soils. These bands are characteristic of the Tuscan formation in this area. The species composition of the bands changes with aspect. This sample represents the north-facing aspect, and is dominated by bay, grading into Ceanothus cuneatus on the downslope side. This survey excludes the portion of the band dominated by Ceanothus, which is represented by WURRCH04.
