| Location Narrative |
Hathaway Ranch is a Shasta Land Trust easement property. This is a dense Quercus douglasii stand with high age diversity, ranging from trees with 100 cm+ DBH to < 5 cm DBH. This stand is located on a gentle, convex W facing slope of a minor hill and is surrounded by grassland with a much rockier, more shallow substrate. These islands of dense Quercus douglasii, probably in deeper soils, repeat throughout the rocky grassland areas of this property. There are a few Arctostaphylos viscida individuals at the east perimeter of the stand, which I am not considering as part of the stand.
