Location Narrative |
Morales Ranch is an easement of the American River Conservancy. Open ponderosa pine stand with a sparse shrub layer and grassland in the canopy openings. Although this is a strange vegetation type, it seems to repeat. The stand was selectively logged, but long ago. There is abundant Elymus glaucus and Bromus carinatus in the grassy areas.
